Removing the Blade and Blade Washers 1. Unplug saw from power source and remove switch key. 2. Pull carriage near front of arm and lock carriage lock (rip lock). 3. Using two wrenches or one wrench and a block of wood to keep the blade from turning, loosen the blade screw or nut (thread is left hand). 4. Once screw or nut is loosened, remove screw or nut, outer flange washer, blade and inner flange washer. 5. Discard the blade, screw or nut and flange washer. Do not return these parts with your saw's carriage/motor assembly.
Removing Arm Trim and Stop Screw 1. Cut the power cord somewhere near the carriage/motor assembly and cut plug from end of power cord and discard plug. 2. Remove trim panel as shown below. 3. Remove carriage stop screw located on the underside and near the front of the arm.
Removing Carriage/Motor Assembly and Packing 1. Loosen the carriage lock (rip lock) and carefully pull carriage/motor assembly toward front of arm until bearings are off of track. 2. Place carriage/motor assembly into box provided. Fill extra space with tightly wadded up newspaper or similar packing material. 3. Fold the first flaps down and apply a generous amount of standard white glue between inner and outer flaps. 4. Seal box with packing tape supplied. (Moisten tape well and don't leave dry spots on the tape.) 5. Call 1-800-511-2628 for pick up.
9" and 10" Radial Arm Saws Removing the Guard and Blade 1. Unplug saw from power source and remove switch key. 2. Pull carriage near front of arm and lock carriage lock (rip lock). 3. Remove blade guard.
4. Remove blade and blade washers
Removing the Arm Trim NOTE: Some 10" models do not require the removal of the arm trim (see illustration) 1. Cut the power cord somewhere near the carriage/motor assembly and cut plug from end of power cord and discard plug. 2. Remove trim panel (and knob, on some models) as shown.
Removing Carriage/Motor Assembly NOTE: For models where trim was not removed proceed to "No Trim Removal" section. Models Where Trim Was Removed 1. Remove carriage stop screw located on the underside and near the front of the arm.
2. Loosen the carriage lock and carefully pull carriage/motor assembly toward front of arm until bearings are off of track.
No Trim Removal 1. Position carriage so all six carriage track screws can be accessed and lock the carriage lock (rip lock). 2. Remove the front four screws that bolt the carriage track to the arm. 3. Slowly loosen the rear two screws until front of carriage track drops down below front of arm. Loosen the carriage lock knob and carefully pull carriage/motor assembly toward front of arm until bearings are off of track.
Packing Carriage/Motor Assembly for Shipping 1. Place carriage/motor assembly into box provided. Fill extra space with tightly wadded up newspaper or similar packing material. 2. Fold the first flaps down and apply a generous amount of standard white glue between inner and outer flaps. 3. Seal box with packing tape supplied.
